A new program aimed at Primary school age children teaches financial prudence in a fun and simple way. The games, designed by Kids at SWiTCH founder Jamie Lee, aim to teach children the basic value of money and the benefits of saving.
The program involves applying for jobs in the classroom and completing tasks in exchange for âmoneyâ. The money can then be exchanged for treats, invested in a âbankâ, or used to buy essentials like a chair to sit on.
According to Lee, the games will teach children the basic value of the dollar and give them an understanding of saving and its benefits.
Many people struggle with managing their finances and part of this is the result of bad habits picked up from their parents when they were younger. If this program works effectively then it could help towards breaking the cycle of generational debt culture and lead to a more financially secure generation.
